Business Support Officer in the People Team

Job Type: Full-time (36 hours per week) or Part-time considered 

Salary: £13.85 per hour PAYE 

Location: NW1

Duration: Approximately 3 months (poss extension) 

Start Date: ASAP

This temporary position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the preservation of the nation's intellectual memory and support the future creation of knowledge.

Day-to-Day of the Role
  • Act as the secretariat for the People Team, including scheduling meetings, drafting agendas, taking minutes, and circulating papers for key meetings such as People Team meetings, Project Boards, and meetings with Trade Unions.
  • Manage the day-to-day diary of the Director of People, including booking and managing travel arrangements and providing general administrative support.
  • Maintain and update staff structure charts.
  • Assist with the administration of staff surveys.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in administration, personal assistance, or a similar role.
  • Excellent diary management and organisational skills.
  • High level of computer literacy, proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other information technologies.
  • Ability to manage competing time demands and pressures in a complex and fast-moving work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently and diplomatically at all levels.
  • High standard of written and spoken English for drafting correspondence and documentation.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
