If yes, Signature Recruitment is excited to be partnering with our client, a prestigious London University, for an Operational Support Officer. This is a full time, temporary role with an immediate start, which will run for approximately ten weeks. It is fully campus-based working across two sites - both with good transport links.

As an Operational Support Officer, you will be a key player working within operational facilities supporting day-to-day processes to ensure the smooth running of the campuses and providing administrative assistance creating a welcoming and supportive culture for students, staff and visitors. You will assist the Business Support Manager and work in collaboration with Research Facility and Technical Managers, Estates and Facilities, and Health and Safety ensuring that all aspects of health and safety are rolled out across all locations and that staff are up to date with the latest training and information.

Operational Support Officer Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with the School Management team to ensure the provision of Health and Safety (H&S) across the university
  • Ensuring the roll out of H&S polices across all locations and that staff are up to date with the latest H&S training. Identifying and addressing any facility-related issues, escalating concerns and working to resolve them
  • Supporting the Senior Business Manager with standard risk assessments and biannual H&S inspections
  • Acting as the first point of contact for the allocation of space for all new starters and assisting with 'Space Management’ and coordinating 'Space Request’ forms, desk moves etc liaising with relevant stakeholders as required
  • Manging and tracking assets, ensuring accurate data and record keeping
  • Assisting the team and wider university with other ad hoc administrative tasks. To include supporting projects, contributing to committees and meetings, covering reception

Operational Support Officer Key Skills:

  • Demonstrable experience in a Business Support Officer / Operational / Facilities role with an understanding of Health and Safety
  • A confident and proactive approach to handling tasks. A team player with good interpersonal skills, exceptional organisation, time management and meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent customer service with all stakeholders
  • Highly Proficient IT skills including MS Office and comfortable working with data and spreadsheets
