We are seeking a dedicated Bursar's Personal Assistant to support the Bursar and Clerk to Governors in all aspects of their roles. This position requires a highly organised, detail-oriented individual who excels in administration and has a passion for education.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Bursar’s PA Duties:
- Manage the Bursar’s diary, scheduling and coordinating meetings with external contacts, staff, and parents.
- Take and write up minutes for internal meetings and follow up on action items.
- Oversee the bursary application process, including managing the application portal, liaising with parents, and organizing home visits.
- Maintain and update policies, ensuring they are reviewed on schedule and accessible to staff and governors.
- Handle data protection logs and insurance claims, including documentation and liaison with finance for payment allocations.
- Manage communications related to uniforms and financial information to parents.
- Administer the online payment platform, setting up offers and managing transactions.
- Assist with various administrative tasks as needed, including stationery orders, post distribution, and sourcing quotes for services and supplies.
Governor Duties:
- Organize and prepare for Board and Committee meetings, including agenda creation, document circulation, and room setups.
- Record accurate minutes for meetings and handle the induction process for new governors.
- Maintain up-to-date records of governor details, training, and statutory returns with relevant bodies.
- Coordinate governor-related events, such as dinners and training sessions.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons you are responsible for or come into contact with.
Required Skills:
- Experience:
- Proven experience in administrative roles and as a personal assistant.
- Experience in an educational environment is desirable
- Minute taking
- Skills:
- Excellent ICT skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and mail merge.
- Strong writing, organisational, and time management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality.
- Knowledge:
- Basic financial knowledge.
- An interest in education and the independent sector.
- Understanding of the needs of children, parents, and staff within a school environment is desirable.

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm (5 days in the office). This role can either be full time or term time only plus 3 or 4 weeks over holidays. Salary will be calculated accordingly. Some Governors meetings maybe in the evenings and finish around 8.15pm. There would be flexibility to work from home the next day.Â
