Senior Practitioner - Learning Disabilities Team, Haringey
Salary: 53,607 + 2,050 Market Supplement

Haringey Council is looking for an experienced Senior Practitioner to lead key aspects of the Learning Disabilities team in preparation for CQC inspections. This is an exciting opportunity to drive improvements, lead on workforce development, and ensure that services are delivered with a strengths-based, person-centred approach.
Role Purpose
You will be responsible for:
- Assessing current practices, developing improvement plans, and overseeing specific work elements, as agreed with the Principal Social Worker.
- Supporting recruitment and retention through the development of apprenticeship programs and the ASYE (Assessed and Supported Year in Employment) program.
- Leading the implementation of a Quality Assurance framework and ensuring compliance with up-to-date, relevant policies and procedures.
- Embedding the Strengths-Based Practice model across all areas of the Learning Disabilities service.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and assess ASYE social workers across all service areas.
- Collaborate with the Principal Social Worker and Team Manager to further develop the Strengths-Based Practice model.
- Lead case discussions, forums, and workshops to embed strengths-based standards.
- Work with commissioners and providers to integrate outcomes-focused practice into service delivery.
- Contribute to audits, identifying areas for development and working with teams to improve practice quality.
- Collaborate with workforce development change managers to produce and review training needs analysis and development plans.
- Deliver training and workshops to enhance practitioner skills and knowledge.
- Review and update adult services policies, procedures, and practice manuals regularly.
- Lead on apprenticeship pathways, collaborating with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) and Team Managers.
- Initiate and maintain internal and external working relationships to enhance service delivery.
Generic Responsibilities

- Demonstrate knowledge of IT and the ability to follow guidelines for statutory requirements.
About You
- BSc or MSc in Social Work, with relevant professional registration.
- Supervisory experience, with a strong commitment to supporting staff development.
- A proven ability to lead on Strengths-Based Practice and workforce development initiatives.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external partners.
- Ability to develop and deliver training to enhance team performance and service delivery.
