Currently I am working with a leading M&E contractor based in London who is seeking a dynamic and experienced Health and Safety Director to join their team. The business generates an annual turnover of more than 165 million with average MEP project values of 30 million+.

The role offers the chance to work on innovative projects while ensuring the highest standards of health and safety across the organisation. This is a London based role overseeing a variety of projects operating across the construction industry within thecommercial, data centre andlife science sectors.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • It is the responsibility of the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Director to review the health, safety and wellbeing training needs of employees and contractors at all levels at regular intervals.
  • Regularly assess, audit, and review safety procedures to ensure adherence to regulations and organizational policies.
  • Perform risk and exposure assessments for different types of hazards within the workplace.
  • Present safety KPIs, strategy, and incidents regularly to customer and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis to identify corrective and preventive measures, ensuring these are communicated and implemented globally.
  • Lead or facilitate regulatory training sessions to fulfil EHS compliance requirements.
  • Track, analyse, and communicate key updates on standards and regulations to ensure compliance and effective risk management.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in health and safety leadership roles within the construction, engineering, or M&E sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in risk management, accident investigation, and safety audits.
  • NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety (or higher).
  • Professional membership of recognized bodies, such as IOSH (Chartered Membership) or the equivalent.
