Associate Structural Engineer - Building Safety

London

60k-65k plus benefits

Our client has a fantastic opportunity within their London Structural Engineering team as an Associate in Structural Engineering (Building Safety).

They are seeking a driven and talented Chartered Structural Engineer at the Associate level who will lead and support efforts in providing Structural Engineering Inspections and Reports for Building Safety Cases. Working closely with the Associate Director of Structural and Civil Engineering, you will play a key role in growing their client base while overseeing the technical direction and expansion of the current team.

Their Structural Reports assess risks related to structural integrity and are delivered as part of a multidiscipline team, which contributes to the full Building Safety Case, as well as independently for various clients. The successful applicant will be instrumental in shaping strategies for the growth of the Structural team and the wider multidiscipline offering.

Their client base cover a range of construction sectors, both private and public.

This position presents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to help drive the department's expansion while maintaining strong client relationships.

Due to the nature of the role, hybrid working is anticipated. You'll lead client-facing projects, helping to expand the department while also progressing your career within the broader Structural and Civil Engineering division.

Key Requirements:

  • Chartered Member of IStructE or ICE (minimum)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Robustness and Progressive Collapse
  • Experience in the assessment and remediation of Large Panel Systems (LPS) is a plus
  • Proficiency in undertaking detailed design, assessments, and the creation of reports, specifications, and schedules, with appropriate evidence
  • Familiarity with Eurocodes and British Standards
  • Ability to visit sites, make observations, and provide written recommendations
  • Broad experience in multiple construction sectors and materials
  • Experience managing teams and guiding others
