Commissioning Engineer - BESS

This role is based in London (Hybrid) and will involve frequent travel across the UK to various BESS plants.

Our client is seeking aCommissioning Engineer to oversee the installation and commissioning of BESS equipment across multiple sites. This role involves hands-on technical expertise, troubleshooting, and the ability to ensure smooth and compliant installation and operational start-up of BESS systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in energy storage or related technologies, with a focus on system integration and on-site commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the installation and commissioning activities for BESS systems, ensuring all equipment is installed to specifications and meets operational requirements.

• Perform site acceptance tests (SAT) and oversee final handover to clients, ensuring systems are fully operational.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize system performance and address any commissioning-related challenges.

• Adhere to all industry standards, ensuring commissioning is completed within agreed timelines and safety protocols.

• Provide detailed post-commissioning reports and operational guidance for the client and operations team.

• Maintain accurate documentation throughout the commissioning process, including system test results, equipment configurations, and site reports.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, quality standards, and customer specifications during installation.

• Provide on-site troubleshooting and resolve any technical issues during the installation and commissioning phases.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in commissioning, installation, or field service engineering, ideally in BESS or renewable energy systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, energy storage technologies, and on-site commissioning processes.
• Ability to work independently at remote project sites.
