Field Service Engineer (Renewables - CHP, Biomass, Biogas, District Heating, Heat Pumps)

About the Role:

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our growing team, responsible for managing energy infrastructure across renewable and sustainable energy systems, including Combined Heat and Power (CHP), biomass, biogas, district heating, and heat pumps. In this role, you will provide visible Health & Safety leadership to ensure compliance with safety standards, manage a team of energy engineers, and oversee the efficient operation of energy centres.

You will be the primary point of contact for site performance, financial delivery, and maintenance activities, ensuring heat, chill, and power are reliably delivered to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of Energy Engineers, driving performance and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Provide visible leadership in Health & Safety, ensuring all aspects of safety standards and compliance are met across the sites.
  • Take overall responsibility for the financial delivery of sites in line with agreed targets, ensuring efficient operation and effective cost control.
  • Develop, implement, and manage relevant service strategies and records to ensure energy centres comply with all internal and external minimum standards.
  • Oversee both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  • Ensure the reliable delivery of heat, chill, and power to customers across your assigned sites.
What We Need from You:
  • HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in General Engineering Principles, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • OSH or equivalent safety qualification as a minimum requirement.
  • Knowledge of district heating, CHP, biomass, biogas, or large-scale energy infrastructure.
  • Proficient in risk management, including conducting risk assessments and identifying hazards.
  • Strong understanding of the commercial impact of site operations and maintenance, ensuring both efficiency and profitability.
  • Demonstrated ability to make managerial and technical decisions, ensuring smooth operations and effective problem-solving.
  • Proven experience in managing and developing engineering teams, ensuring accountability and performance.
