The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the design and structural analysis of refurbishment, cut and carve, and heritage-type structures. This role involves significant site work, primarily within Central London, so a willingness to be on-site regularly is essential.
Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct site visits across Central London, engaging in on-site assessments, inspections, and meetings.
- Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on complex structural engineering issues.
- Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, and reports in compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide support for their professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
- Chartered status with a recognised institution (ICE, IStructE) preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on refurbishment, cut and carve, and heritage projects.
- Extensive experience in on-site work, particularly within an urban environment like Central London.
- Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, standards, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Working Conditions:
- The role requires frequent site visits across Central London, with an expectation to be on-site every day or at least 4 days a week.
- Office-based work will also be required for design, reporting, and collaboration with the team.
- Flexible working arrangements may be considered, depending on project demands.
If you are a skilled structural engineer with the required experience and qualifications, and you're looking for a challenging role with significant on-site involvement in Central London, we would love to hear from you.
