Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and analysis of residential structures, ensuring all designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to a range of projects from concept through to completion, including refurbishment, renovation, and historic building projects.
- Use AutoCAD and Tedds software to create structural designs, detailed drawings, and calculations.
- Support the design and implementation of temporary works, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations during construction phases.
- Work closely with senior engineers and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
- Participate in professional development activities to further develop your skills and knowledge in structural engineering.
Key Requirements:
- A degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Around 3 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, with a focus on residential projects, including refurbishment and historic buildings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Tedds for design and analysis.
- Experience with temporary works design and implementation.
- Solid understanding of current structural engineering codes and standards.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and contractors.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and professional development.
- A keen interest in working on residential, refurbishment, and historic building projects.
Desirable:
- Experience with other structural engineering software such as Revit, Tekla, or similar.
- Working towards chartered status with a recognized professional body (e.g., ICE, IStructE).
