We are seeking a talented and motivated Graduate Structural Engineer with minimum 3 years of experience in the structural engineering field to join a growing dynamic team in Croyden. As a key member of the team, you will be working on a variety of residential projects, including refurbishment, renovations, and historic building works. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual who is eager to grow and expand their skills in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and analysis of residential structures, ensuring all designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to a range of projects from concept through to completion, including refurbishment, renovation, and historic building projects.
  • Use AutoCAD and Tedds software to create structural designs, detailed drawings, and calculations.
  • Support the design and implementation of temporary works, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations during construction phases.
  • Work closely with senior engineers and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
  • Participate in professional development activities to further develop your skills and knowledge in structural engineering.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Around 3 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, with a focus on residential projects, including refurbishment and historic buildings.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Tedds for design and analysis.
  • Experience with temporary works design and implementation.
  • Solid understanding of current structural engineering codes and standards.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and contractors.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and professional development.
  • A keen interest in working on residential, refurbishment, and historic building projects.

Desirable:

  • Experience with other structural engineering software such as Revit, Tekla, or similar.
  • Working towards chartered status with a recognized professional body (e.g., ICE, IStructE).
