Our client, a leading consultancy in the engineering sector, is currently seeking a Structural/Civil Engineer to join their team in London. This is a full-time, permanent role offering you an exciting opportunity to work in the rail industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of concept, schematic, and detailed designs for a variety of civil structures
- Undertaking detailed analysis, design computations, and running complex models and constructability reviews
- Preparation of sketches and technical reports
- Peer review of detailed calculations, technical reports, and design concepts
- Co-ordination of designs with other project team consultants and clients
- Participation in internal design team meetings and external meetings with clients and other consultants
- Visits to construction and project sites to perform site inspections and provide observation reports and supporting engineering advice
- Guiding and liaising with design teams of engineers and drafters to ensure project objectives are achieved
- Identifying opportunities for follow-on work, developing proposals and bids on small to medium scale projects, and supporting bids and proposal development on large-scale projects
Job Requirements:
- Strong structural design skills and an understanding of civil engineering principles
- Experience in civils/heavy civils/structural/bridge design
- Experience with structural software such as MIDAS, LUSAS, or Strand
- Desirable geotechnical skills
- Ability to produce detailed design computations and technical reports
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders
- Membership in a relevant engineering institution
