We are looking for a Design Manager to join our client who are a firmly established ground and earthworks contractor based in North London.
Drive the design strategy from project inception to completion, ensuring seamless delivery and exceptional quality. You'll lead a multidisciplinary team of consultants and subcontractors, ensuring all design outputs align with project goals, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include:
- Spearheading the design process, from pre-construction planning through to final project delivery.
- Orchestrating collaboration between internal teams, external architects, and specialist subcontractors.
- Guaranteeing design deliverables meet project timelines, specifications, and technical standards.
- Overseeing design approvals and facilitating effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Proactively identifying and mitigating potential design risks.
- Contributing to value engineering and buildability reviews in partnership with delivery teams.
- Maintaining strict adherence to company standards, regulations, and security protocols.
What You Bring:
- Proven experience as a Design Manager on large-scale construction projects.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of both new build (steel/RC frame) and refurbishment projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple design packages and coordinate diverse disciplines.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Proficiency in relevant design and document management software.
