Are you a talented design manager looking for your next opportunity? This exciting freelance role offers the chance to be part of a significant residential development in London, where you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality homes.

The Company:

3D Personnel is working in collaboration with a leading developer and contractor on the first phase of a major housing scheme. This development will feature a significant number of new homes in London. We are seeking a design manager with a strong residential background and excellent knowledge of building regulations, ideally with experience in architecture.

The Role:

As the design manager, you will be instrumental in the ongoing success of this large-scale project.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reporting to the senior design manager and collaborating with another design manager.
• Producing design programs, scopes, responsibility matrices, appointments, and schedules.
• Managing and delivering design information in line with the agreed program and deliverable schedule.
• Ensuring design consultants and engineers fulfil their duties as per their appointments.
• Attending and leading meetings with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Conducting value engineering to maximise project profitability.
• Working closely with commercial and delivery teams to ensure project alignment.
• Ensuring compliance with planning conditions and legislative requirements.

Key Requirements:

Proven experience in a design manager role, ideally with a developer, contractor, or consultancy.
Ability to manage the design process independently.
Strong technical knowledge of design packages and involvement in key project stages, including consultant selection, procurement, and delivery.
Educated to degree level or HNC/HND in a relevant discipline.
Experience working on large residual projects is ideal.
