Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Regulation Advisor to join our dynamic Financial Regulation team. Reporting to the Head of Financial Regulation, you will be responsible for managing regulatory compliance matters and ensuring our business meets all regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist undertaking of detailed impact assessments for key upcoming regulations.
  • Conduct regulatory mapping of obligations to business requirements and controls.
  • Support in-depth understanding, analysis, and interpretation of relevant regulations (e.g., MiFID II, MAR, EMIR, and REMIT).
  • Collaborate with other support functions e.g., Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Risk and Finance to understand the impact of upcoming regulations.
  • Assist training sessions on upcoming regulations e.g., REMIT II.
  • Assist with ad-hoc queries from other E&C members (e.g., advisory, surveillance).
  • Act as a subject matter expert and assist the projects team when implementing regulatory requirements.
  • Review obligations from TSOs and license conditions across Europe and UK.
  • Act a Regulatory reporting liaison leading on matters that arise from the Commercial Operations team.
  • Responsible for regulatory horizon scanning; monitoring of key regulatory changes across Denmark, Europe and UK and triaging relevant information to the team.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working with regulations within the energy or financial services sector.
  • Industry, regulator, or trade association experience desired.
  • Understanding of financial services, market abuse in wholesale energy markets, balancing markets, trading, regulatory reporting, policy, and procedure frameworks.
  • Ability to keep abreast of regulatory changes in a fast and dynamic environment.
  • Strong teamwork skills - ability to work part of a wider team to meet the team's objectives.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills: excellent verbal, presentation, managing upwards and writing skills.
  • Experience of working with exchanges and system operators is desirable.
  • Proven experience of working flexibly and delivering on time to a high standard.
