Income Officer - Supporting Patients and Families with Financial Clarity
We are seeking a dedicated Income Officer to work within a hospital environment, providing essential financial guidance to patients and their families. This role is crucial in ensuring that individuals understand the financial implications of their care pathways, particularly for care home placements, allowing for swift and secure arrangements.
The role requires close collaboration with clients, their representatives, and social work colleagues, offering clear explanations of financial assessments, funding responsibilities, and statutory regulations. You will be responsible for providing on-site financial advice, supporting patients in navigating funding options, and assisting with the necessary documentation for care home placements. This includes advising on capital thresholds, property ownership implications, and interim funding requirements.
A strong understanding of Adult Social Care financial assessments, as well as experience working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and empathy are key, will be essential. You will be handling sensitive and sometimes challenging conversations, ensuring patients and their families feel informed and supported throughout the process. Keeping case management systems such as Liquidlogic and ContrOCC up to date with accurate information will be a fundamental part of the role.
Training will be provided, but previous experience with LAS and ContrOCC systems would be an advantage. If you have a background in financial assessments, social care finance, or related areas and want to make a difference in supporting vulnerable individuals through complex financial decisions, we would love to hear from you.
