Description
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims in accordance with financial policies and procedures.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment processing, including BACS and cheque payments.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes.
- Assist in month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve payment-related queries.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements (e.g., VAT), and institutional policies.
- Support process improvements to enhance efficiency in the accounts payable function.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial tasks and reporting as required.
Profile
- Previous experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role, preferably within the education or public sector.
- Knowledge of financial regulations, VAT, and procurement policies within higher education.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Agresso, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
- Strong Excel skills and ability to manage large datasets.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with stakeholders.
