The client are the leading private education and training business in the world and they are looking for an Accounts Payable and Receivable Officer to join the team on a permanent basis. The role involves managing all aspects of accounts payable, and they will assist with the management of the AR ledger, and the month-end close. The head office is based in London Victoria and requires the candidate to be in the office 3 days per week.

Client Details

This global private education company is a looking for a Accounts Payable and Receivable Officer to join the central services team. They will report directly into the Group Accountant and will be working in a small team of 4. The business has a wealth of growth and progression prospects and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to move into a number of different areas of finance within the company. The role has a wealth of exposure and the client is looking for a candidate with at least 5 years of AP experience to join the team.

The head office is based in South West London (London Victoria) and they have hybrid working.

Description

The successful Accounts Payable and Receivable Officer will:

  • End-to-end management of the Accounts Payable ledger and assistance with the Accounts Receivable ledger
  • Work to improve the efficiencies of the AP process
  • Supporting external vendor queries and building sustainable relationships
  • Liaising with internal schools (stakeholders) with clarifications on queries for intercompany invoices
  • Handling of accounts payable/accounts receivable with focus on intercompany transactions & recharges; processing of invoices and employee expense claims
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc payments using e-banking platform and other relevant payment methods
  • Posting of payment & FX clearing journal entries
  • Assist with monthly account closing, reports and bank reconciliations.
  • Working closely with Accounts Payable officer to deliver bi-monthly payment runs in timely way, with high quality and within SLAs.
  • Accounts receivable balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Provide support to external and internal audit teams.
  • Maintain the vendor master data details.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice & payment discrepancies.
  • Manage communication with external and internal stakeholders through two dedicated mailbox accounts.

Profile

A successful Accounts Payable Officer should have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Studying towards the ACCA or CIMA qualification
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in transnational finance for a global (multi-entity) business
  • Proficiency in an accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Knowledge of accounts payable processes
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach
