Objectives:

  1. To support the operation of the firms accounting system
  2. Specifically to support the Accounts Manager.
  3. Dedicated Accounts Cashier who is able to utilize their strengths in bookkeeping, file maintenance, and accurate record keeping.

Main Duties:

  1. To ensure that all banking is done daily as directed.
  2. To ensure that all cheques are written on correct amounts and Client Account is never allowed to overdraw.
  3. To enter postings to the accounts system on a daily basis.
  4. To enter of bills raised by the firm in the required records.
  5. To execute Bank Transfers.
  6. To ensure that all authorised invoices are dealt with in a timely manner.
  7. To deal directly with Clients when receiving payment by cash or cheque.
  8. To check that fee earner and their support have obtained authority to close accounts so that nil balances are achieved before archiving.
  9. To support the operation of the firm's credit control system.
  10. To manage own work allocation, productivity and quality of work with minimum supervision.
  11. Process payments as well as documents such as invoices.
  12. Make bank deposits and keep up to date records.
  13. Key data into company accounting system.
  14. Make and track payments through the banking system.
  15. Disburse funds as needed.
  16. Process Counsel's fees.
  17. Obtain information to reconcile credit and debit card payments.
  18. Compliance training as when needed.
  19. Any other duties within the scope and spirit of the post as required.
