Legal Cashier (Remote)

£27,800 per annum

We are working with a respected and long-established law firm to find a Legal Cashier to join their growing finance team based in the City of London. With over 150 years of history and a reputation for delivering high-quality legal services across England and Wales, this firm combines a rich heritage with a forward-thinking and inclusive culture. Please note that although this is a remote role, there is the requirement to travel to the London office once every 2 months.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with previous legal finance experience to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting departments across the firm with the end-to-end disbursement process - ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective communication with internal stakeholders and clients alike.

You’ll be joining a collaborative team where new ideas are encouraged, and your input will directly contribute to the efficiency and success of finance operations. The firm is known for its supportive environment, professional development opportunities, and genuine commitment to staff wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse system ledgers to determine billing or write-off decisions, liaising with fee earners for confirmation
  • Manage billing procedures, including checking client account balances and obtaining purchase orders
  • Create, process, and send bills using the firm’s finance system
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of disbursement status and billing history
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager on reporting and process improvement initiatives
  • Support the archiving process and help streamline weekly and monthly finance reviews

Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in a legal cashiering or finance role within a law firm
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
