My client are seeking a dedicated Senior Legal Cashier to join their accounts department. The role will be overseeing and managing the day-to-day accounting and legal cashier operations within the finance team. 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Overseeing two Legal Cashiers, alongside training and monitoring their performance. 
  • Supervision of CHAPS/BACS payments and posting receipts
  • Monitoring of WIP, billing, debt and performance of the Fee Earners
  • Client and office bank reconciliations 
  • Processing client to office transfers
  • Completing and processing monthly Payroll, paying PAYE/NI
  • Dealing with residual balances
  • Assisting the COFA 
  • Managing the SAR audits and accounts review
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Senior Legal Cashier or similar role within a legal practice.
  • Strong understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and SRA regulations.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office.
  • Experience of managing staff
