Lead Science Technician required for a large outstanding school in Greenwich.

The Lead Science Technician has personal responsibility for an area of the technician service with a particular, but not exclusive emphasis to A level Physics and Integrated Science to Years 7 to 11.

As Lead Science Technician you will be responsible for the Science Technician Team in this well resourced school.

You will be responsible for creating a positive working relationship with staff and student

You will coordinate the use of practical resources and provide assistance and advice in the practical needs of the science curriculum, including liaising with teaching staff and ensure and promote the maintenance of a healthy & safe working environment.

You will provide technical advice and support on health & safety issues to teaching and technical staff; the safe treatment & disposal of used materials including hazardous substances and responding to actual or potential hazards;

In this role you will have responsibility of 4 technicians ensuring that essential performance standards are achieved and work closely with the Curriculum Leader in Science in regard to changes to the National Curriculum.

There is classroom based work assisting teaching A level physics experiments as required.. You will also Maintain databases for A level students competing PAG experiments and deliver 'exciting’ physics demos for teachers when required and be involved in class practicals.
