Trainee Building Safety Manager

We are seeking a Trainee Building Safety Manager to join a large social housing provider in London. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable experience and training in building safety. The role is particularly significant given the recent and upcoming changes within the building safety sector.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage assigned geographical patches, ensuring compliance with building safety regulations.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of high-rise buildings, focusing on fire and structural risks.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and build strong relationships across various departments.
  • Lead initiatives based on best practice and future-proofing principles.
  • Work autonomously, demonstrating self-discipline and the ability to manage one's workload effectively.
  • Travel throughout the asset portfolio as required, ensuring all areas meet safety standards.
  • Analyse data from as-built documents and drawings to assess building safety.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Some knowledge and understanding of the Building Safety Act.
  • Good understanding of Fire Risk Assessments.
  • Proficient in managing multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with professional surveyors/engineers.
  • Understanding of structural safety and design principles.
  • Capable of working to tight guidelines and targets.
