Business Analyst

London – Hybrid

Up to £75,000 - 12-month Fixed Term Contract

VIQU has partnered with a leading transport organisation seeking a Business Analyst for a 12-month FTC. The successful candidate will contribute to a key railway infrastructure project, collaborating across teams to understand business requirements, analyse data, and deliver actionable insights. This role will also support the development and implementation of technology solutions, ensuring alignment with operational and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities of the Business Analyst:

  • Lead business analysis for a major infrastructure transition, ensuring seamless service handover.
  • Ensure operations teams and vendors are ready to inherit and support new services.
  • Gather, document, and refine business, technical, and data requirements.
  • Support business continuity planning to maintain smooth operations from day one.
  • Translate user stories into clear development tasks aligned with operational needs.
  • Communicate progress and insights to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation following best practices.
  • Work with architecture and enterprise applications teams to develop effective solutions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and business process modelling best practices.

Key Requirements of the Business Analyst:

  • Experience in business or data analysis, particularly in service transitions, M&A, or operational takeovers.
  • Strong focus on business continuity to ensure smooth service handover.
  • Degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with enterprise applications and vendor management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Transport or infrastructure experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • Familiarity with Business Process Modelling and Notation (desired).
