Business Development Consultant – ApprenticeshipsLocation: Nationwide (UK) with main base in HarrowAre you a driven, energetic, and a passionate sales professional with a strong background in Apprenticeships? Do you have a track record of success in the education sector and a desire to make a real impact by helping businesses grow through learner training solutions? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!My client is looking for a talented Business Development Consultant to join their existing team and play a key role in expanding the Apprenticeships division. You’ll have the opportunity to sell training solutions to levy-paying employers across the UK, helping them maximize their apprenticeship levy and supporting their business growth.***EXPERIENCE IN APPRENTICESHIPS IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL***Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with a wide range of employers, both large and small, offering expert guidance on maximising apprenticeship levy and enhancing their business through apprenticeships.
  • Take a consultative approach to identify employer needs, and design tailored training solutions to close skills gaps and address recruitment challenges.
  • Manage a comprehensive territory plan to generate new business opportunities, expanding our client base across the UK.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, ensuring the right solutions are in place to meet their business objectives.
  • Identify and sell a full range of training solutions, including work experience and industry placements.
  • Develop and write proposals that meet employer needs while contributing to College income targets.
  • Drive strategic business development efforts to achieve expected outcomes and growth targets.
  • Work closely with the Apprenticeship Team and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of services.
Additional Duties:
  • Use market intelligence to build and manage a robust lead generation strategy.
  • Expand customer base and increase sales through networking and proactive business development.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Sales to meet and exceed conversion income and portfolio targets.
  • Ensure the timely completion of reporting systems and internal documentation.
  • Support the apprenticeship recruitment team in filling apprenticeship and work experience vacancies.
  • Advise employers on how to utilise the apprenticeship levy and ensure compliance with all relevant requirements.
  • Collaborate with curriculum teams to monitor progress against agreed targets and deliver quality training solutions.
  • Manage employer relationships throughout their journey, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within the education or apprenticeship sector.
  • Excellent communication skills and a consultative sales approach.
  • Strong understanding of apprenticeships, particularly in relation to the apprenticeship levy.
  • Experience working with both large employers and SMEs to drive business growth.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own pipeline and achieve sales targets.
  • A proactive approach to business development with a passion for helping employers thrive through training and education.
  • Ability to build strong, long-lasting relationships with employers and internal teams.
