A top, international law firm is looking to hire a Pricing Manager in an exciting, newly created role with a great career trajectory. You will provide support to the immediate team, pricing function, and the fee-earning community as a business-facing member of the accounting department.
As the Pricing Manager some of your duties will include:
- Be the primary point of contact for pricing within the UK and EU.
- Provide analytical pricing support to senior stakeholders and management to drive behaviours that enhance profitability.
- Assist in streamlining the annual rates setting process, including office-specific rates and client-specific rates.
- Take ownership of large/complex client RFP and pricing requests, coordinating decision-making with partners, colleagues in BD, and clients.
- Communicate with the business to discuss pricing strategies, brainstorm creative fee proposals, facilitate effective rate management, and optimize efficiencies.
- Adapt the global pricing strategy to regional market conditions and norms.
- Prepare robust models and templates to support analysis of a wide range of fee proposals using firm financial metrics.
- Support wider projects and initiatives led by the pricing team to enhance financial performance and improve profitability (e.g., cost rate analysis).
- Implement a process for post-matter reviews.
- Work alongside the financial systems team to develop reporting capability in Power BI.
- Upskill the pricing ability of finance managers, pricing analysts, and senior lawyers within the region.
The successful candidate for this Pricing Manager role will possess the following qualities:
- Pricing experience in a law firm or professional services environment essential.
- Effective time management in a fast-paced and sometimes demanding environment.
- Strong Excel proficiencies, including pivot tables, conditional formatting, data validation, and other advanced functions.
- Pride in delivering excellence with excellent service delivery (time and quality) while maintaining good internal and external relationships.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, liaising with colleagues across all levels and distilling financial information to those in both financial and non-financial roles.
- Good people skills for cooperation and teamwork within the pricing team and finance department.
- Focus on accuracy and attention to detail to become a reliable and trusted advisor.
- Proficient mathematical and analytical skills.
