Lorien's leading based client is currently looking for a highly skilled Risk and Control Consultant to join the team on an initial 6 month contract with the extremely high possibility of an extension.

The skills/Experience you'll need:

  • Vast experience of working in risk management, control functions, or compliance roles within global financial markets
  • Proven expertise in conducting market abuse risk assessments and implementing effective risk controls within trading environments.
  • Perform detailed market abuse risk assessments across trading activities, identifying potential areas of vulnerability and recommending mitigating controls.
  • Experience of working in global market
  • Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive risk and control framework for global trading operations, ensuring it aligns with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Work closely with traders, providing clear guidance on compliance expectations and risk control measures. Be a trusted advisor to traders on how to align trading activities with risk management objectives
  • Proactively identify risks in trading and operational processes, assess their impact, and propose mitigating actions to reduce the likelihood of market abuse or trading anomalies.
  • Collaborate with compliance and monitoring teams to enhance trade surveillance and other monitoring tools that identify market abuse risks, including potential insider trading, price manipulation, and spoofing.
