Your new role:

  • Developing and implementing business continuity plans for the loss of critical 3rd parties across all areas of European operations in line with DORA and UK Regulators expectations.
  • Collaborating with functional teams to conduct 3rd party business impact analysis, and scenario planning to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats to critical business functions
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive business continuity and ensuring exit plans meet business expectations, ensuring alignment with EU regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Evaluating and enhancing the effectiveness of existing resilience plans and processes, making recommendations for improvements
  • Designing and conducting testing, training, and simulation exercises to validate the effectiveness of continuity plans and enhance organisational readiness
  • Serving as liaison with external partners, vendors, and relevant stakeholders to align continuity efforts and maintain external dependencies
  • Incorporating lessons learned from incidents and industry developments
  • Providing regular reports to senior management on the status of 3rd party business continuity initiatives and recommended improvements
  • Continuously monitoring emerging risks and industry trends, adapting resilience strategies to evolving threats and business needs
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify business requirements and impacts of third-party failures
  • Collate existing artefacts and populate exit and contingency plan templates
  • Facilitate business workshops to identify workarounds to the temporary or permanent loss of a key third party
  • Document workarounds in the overarching exit and contingency plan
  • Identify any potential gaps in continuity planning and escalate as required
  • Report progress via robust tracking into the project steering group

About you:

  • Experience in business continuity, operational resilience, or emergency response planning is essential
  • Ability to influence and manage relationships with key stakeholders including challenging where required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to assess information and identify gaps/areas for improvement
  • A self-starter with excellent organisational skills including workload planning and measurement
  • Ability to work under pressure to stretching targets
  • 3+ years of experience in business continuity or operational resilience
  • A strong understanding of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to operational resilience and continuity planning
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proficiency in relevant tools and technologies used for risk assessment, resilience, and continuity planning
  • An ability to work alone to ensure deliverables meet requirements

Nice to have

  • A relevant certification (e.g. CBCP, ABCP)
  • An understanding of FusionRM

  • Need to know what DORA is, not necessarily worked on it
  • Need an exit plan for 30 suppliers written from the business perspective
  • Need to be really hands on and in the detail
  • Engage with senior stakeholders and influence them to make sure this is a priority and challenge them
  • This is not a strategic role
  • Need to be a self-starter, problem solver etc.
  • Need to be on a short notice or no notice
