An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated business development professional to join one of the world’s leading law firms to provide focused business development and marketing support to the partners and associates of the firm's Project & Development Finance Group. This role would probably suit a very strong executive looking for a step up in responsibilities.

The firm has an ambitious global strategy which puts clients at the very heart of everything they do and have a clear mandate to develop existing strengths and relationships whilst also increasing market share in new markets. The firm’s marketing and business development function is seen as pivotal in making this strategy a reality. The team works strategically with the partnership with the aim of making the firm the global law firm of choice for the world’s leading businesses. This role sits within the firm’s Global Financial Markets practices who are recognised as market leaders and work with many of the world's pre-eminent financial institutions and investors. Based in London, you will primarily support the Project & Development Finance Group, which covers renewable and new energy, including a new firm initiative on energy transition opportunities, infrastructure, conventional power, oil and gas and mining and metals. Working closely with the Senior BD Manager and the wider Marketing & Business Development teams in London and across the global network, you will interact daily with fee earners in the London Project & Development Finance Group and others across this very global team. The purpose of this role is to support the development of the group, through the delivery and project management of business development, sales support, client focus and marketing initiatives and you collaborate with product group partners to facilitate the flow of information and highlight cross-selling opportunities. Acting as an ambassador for the market profile of the group and managing and implementing process improvements, the Senior Business Development Executive will be responsible for providing operational BD support to ensure the implementation of the group business plan in collaboration with the partners, and will assist with client targeting and mapping and opportunity spotting. Pitches and credentials will represent a key area of focus, including project managing kick-off calls and deliverables with key stakeholders, compiling and updating the documents and ensuring each request captures the firm’s USPs and key experience. The successful applicant will also have strong involvement in broader marketing and communications and will project manage directory, awards league table submissions and assist with the organisation of client events, both virtual and in-person.

Confident, resilient and focused, the chosen candidate will have solid experience working in a marketing or business development team, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment, or equivalent experience in a client development or account management role. The firm are looking for someone who has a track record of being pro-active and delivering high quality work and the ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines within a fast-paced team environment. The Senior Business Development Executive will also be an exceptional team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills who is able to form strong working relationships for the benefit of both the group and the firm as a whole. Previous experience of, or a real interest in, energy, infrastructure and the energy transition will be highly advantageous.
