- Creating and implementing the Quality Engineering strategy, ensuring that when required it is supported across technology
- Managing the Quality Engineering budget, alongside the partner performance, making sure that the company has the right test as a service partner that delivers value for money and quality of test services
- Implementing KPI-driven quality outcomes to support both business needs and the strategy
- Adopting the modern shift left test practices, to include automation and embedding testing within teams and not as later phased assurance role
- Transitioning from manual testing and release to an automated CI/CD
- Striving to lessen the reliance on manual assurance type testing
- Proactively building the right capacity and capability for the company and external testing and assurance resources/suppliers
- Targeting the decreasing of Reducing TaaS via the use of automation and insourcing
- Making sure there is a cost-effective provision for testing and assurance capability
- Managing the technical quality and standards of the testing and assurance function
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
- Strong experience encompassing senior engineering/quality engineering and excellent exposure to digital transformation or strategic insourcing programmes
- Significant experience in software development testing and assurance
- Demonstratable experience building a test & assurance function, with expertise in testing and assurance principles, practices and methodologies
- Excellent knowledge of core Tech and testing tools including cloud, test automation and shift left
- Exposure to both Agile and Waterfall environments and methodologies
- Outstanding leadership abilities, preferably from roles such as a 'Test Manager' or 'Team Lead', where upon software engineer, assurance and testing teams have been led and developed
- Fantastic communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers, including agreeing on priorities and trade-offs
