Estates Manager

Venn Group is working with a leading Higher Education Institution to recruit for an Estates Manager to lead on technical maintenance, including building work, refurbishments, working closely with the project teams and facilities teams. Multifaceted role requiring a skilled individual with expertise in managing complex maintenance and building projects.

Salary: £52,701k

Duration: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 per week

Location: London

Duties of the role will be to:

  • Take responsibility for overseeing surveying activities within the team, providing mentorship, and serving as the technical expert. Develop and establish procedures for conducting condition surveys, creating PPM schedules, and formulating long-term maintenance strategies
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices across the estates team
  • Ensure buildings are maintained to high standards by effectively managing the infrastructure and overall condition of the buildings
  • Track and evaluate project performance against established timelines, identifying any delays and taking corrective actions to keep the projects on track
  • Implement strategies for cost control and change management to ensure projects remain within budget, meet their objectives, and that every team member has a clear understanding of their responsibilities

The successful will have:

  • Extensive experience in conducting condition assessments and long-term maintenance plans, including carrying out surveys and preparing detailed reports across the full spectrum of Building Surveying services
  • Health & Safety Certification
  • Proven track record of involvement in managing high-profile, complex construction projects from start to finish
  • Strong focus on the ongoing enhancement of standards, processes, and knowledge to consistently deliver outstanding service
  • Motivated with excellent organisational abilities, adept at prioritizing and handling multiple tasks or projects to meet deadlines and budget requirements. Proficient in providing guidance on resource needs and leading and inspiring a team effectively
