Our client, an international membership organisation, is seeking an experienced Professional Conduct Manager temp to join their team for a 10-week temporary assignment (possibility of being extended, depending on the circumstances).

As a pivotal member of the Professional Conduct team, you will play a crucial role in managing the processes that shape the future of the institution. You will be the first point of contact for their members and the public, guiding them through the complexities of professional conduct and disciplinary matters.

Key facts:

Start date: ASAP

Assignment length: 10 weeks (thereafter, possible extension)

Gross Pay rate (PAYE): £24.73 per hour + holiday pay 

Location: Hybrid working – London EC1V. 3/2 days office, 2/3 days home.

Gross Pay rate: £24.73 per hour (plus holiday pay) / £865.55 for a 35 hour working week (plus holiday pay)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, 0900 - 1700

 

Overview:

In this role, you will manage the inquiry process from initial complaint submission through to case resolution, guiding complainants through the necessary steps and ensuring all required documentation is provided. You will collaborate closely with the relevant committee, distributing cases for assessment and monitoring progress.

Facilitating communication with all parties involved will be one of your key responsibilities, including corresponding with witnesses and compiling comprehensive case files for presentation to the committee. You will also prepare for and participate in meetings, providing detailed updates on case statuses and assisting in writing case decisions based on the committee’s discussions.

Ensuring compliance with timelines and documentation standards mandated by the organisation is essential, as is keeping all stakeholders updated on case progress. You will maintain accurate records in Excel and other platforms for tracking and updating ongoing cases, diligently managing sensitive and confidential information.

Additionally, you will serve as a point of contact for incoming inquiries regarding professional conduct, effectively escalating matters as needed and coordinating correspondence with relevant representatives.

 

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate must possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as this role involves thorough review of forms and documentation, ensuring any missing information is promptly addressed with the concerned parties.

Proven time management skills are non-negotiable, as the prospective candidate will be expected to manage multiple cases simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.

Strong communication skills are essential for effectively engaging with emotional or distressed parties, ensuring clarity and professionalism and managing their expectations.

The individual must also demonstrate exceptional organisational skills, as they will be tasked with coordinating with professional conduct committee members and various stakeholders, efficiently allocating tasks, monitoring case progress, and following up accordingly.

Resilience under pressure is vital, as the candidate will need to work in a high-pressure environment without becoming intimidated by challenging interactions or circumstances.

Additionally, we’re looking for candidates who have:

  • Knowledge of GDPR and Data Protection legislation.
  • Understanding of codes of conduct and disciplinary procedures within a professional context.
  • Commitment to equality of opportunity and valuing diversity.

Desirable:

  • Degree or equivalent vocational qualification.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body.
  • Experience working in a professional or regulatory body in a conduct-related role.
