The Role

This position involves providing critical support for the firm’s patent administration processes. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient handling of patent applications and communications while maintaining close coordination with attorneys, clients and foreign associates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and filing patent applications with the UKIPO, EPO and other international patent offices
  • Monitoring and managing deadlines using the firm's case management systems
  • Handling official correspondence, including examination reports and grant certificates
  • Maintaining accurate records of patent portfolios and client files
  • Liaising with clients, attorneys and foreign associates to provide updates and obtain instructions
  • Managing diaries and coordinating workflows to meet critical deadlines
  • Supporting attorneys with billing and administrative tasks as required

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in patent administration
  • Familiarity with patent procedures and regulations, particularly in the UK and Europe
  • Proficiency with case management software and online patent filing systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • A CIPA Administrators Certificate is advantageous but not essential
