A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Restaurant & Bar Manager to join one of Londons oldest and most distinguished privately owned hotels. The Washington Mayfair Hotel is located in one of Londons finest locations, Curzon Street, tucked into the heart of Mayfair a few minutes from Park Lane and offering clients a perfect alternative to the famous 5-star Park Lane Hotels. Privately owned since 1997, the hotel offers a great range of spacious accommodation to suit both business and leisure travellers and is capable of accommodating events groups or parties from 15 to 350 people.

1.To have an absolute passion for food

2.To ensure that at all times food preparation and service from the kitchen meets the agreed standards.

3.To maintain a strict control, whilst on duty, on all food items issued from the kitchen.

4.To ensure that all orders are prepared according to the instruction on the appropriate check.

5.To check function sheets daily and communicate any movements to the team.

6.To handle their section and to work closely with the Sous chef on all day to day matters.

7.To ensure portion control is strictly adhered to and action cases where wastage occurs and ensure a strict follow up and action.

8.To ensure the proper handling of all food items in accordance with health & hygiene procedures.

9.To ensure the storage of all food, ensuring correct stock rotation and maximum security at all times.

10.To report anything that may be considered a health or hygiene hazard.

11.To check all goods delivered against the relevant documentation and check also for quantity and quality.

12.To assist in maintaining the food cost percentage within the budget of not more than 30%.

13.To ensure that maison place for the next shift meet business demands.

14.To ensure, encourage and promote communication links between the kitchen and other departments within the hotel at all times.

15.To be aware of, and comply with, safe working practices as laid down under the Health and Safety Act.

16.To be aware of and comply with Food and Hygiene Regulations.

17.To wear any appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the company.

18.To report any defects in the building or equipment according to the hotel procedures.

19.To ensure any accidents to staff guests or visitors are reported in accordance with the correct procedures.

20.To attend company training if required to.

21.To action any other reasonable requests made by management
