Smyth & Co is currently seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join the culinary team at our client's renowned Italian cuisine restaurants. Specializing in casual fine dining, our client is dedicated to creating exceptional dining experiences, crafting fresh pasta in-house and sourcing premium ingredients from the beautiful landscapes of the Lake District and Cornwall.
Responsibilities:
Support the Head Chef in leading a team of culinary professionals to maintain the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Assist in the preparation and execution of dishes for up to 140 covers per service, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop and refine menus, including a pre-theatre selection for peak dining hours.
Uphold health and safety regulations and kitchen cleanliness standards at all times.
Assist in inventory management, ordering, and stock control to minimize waste and optimize cost-effectiveness.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, communication, and professional development among kitchen staff.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Sous Chef in Italian cuisine, preferably in high-volume restaurant settings.
Solid understanding of Italian culinary techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to support and motivate a team of culinary professionals.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate operational requirements.
