We are currently recruiting a proactive and drivenSous Chefto be a part of our main Culinary Central Gem of the Hotel, the Kitchen Department.

Key qualities we are looking from the Sous Chef:
As a Sous Chef in the Hotel main Culinary Gem, the Quadrato Restaurant and Lounge, you will be supporting the Head Chef in running the main Kitchen Sections with assisting the Head Chef in managing a team of talented chefs with being responsible for each section when required as well as daily preparation of the different services.
This is an amazing opportunity to discover all aspects of the Quadrato Restaurant and Lounge menu offering and to really develop your skills in one of the best kitchens in an Luxury 5* Hotel situated in Canary Wharf.
The ideal candidate will have the following Skills and Knowledge:
Must have a minimum of 3 years full experience in a 5* Luxury Hotel or Luxury Restaurant in a proactive Sous Chef position, or currently a Junior Sous Chef looking to step up further in to Sous Chef.
Full understanding the importance of Food Safety alongside Health and Safety in the Kitchen environment.
Ability to multi task with managing a team of talented Chefs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a selection of Chefs.
The main responsibilities for this role would include:
Supporting the team and workflow to execute the Quadrato Restaurant and Lounge standardized dishes according to the recipes and user guides in a high volume atmosphere for high profile guests
Backing the Head Chef to drive the team to maintain the highest level of productivity and efficiency in overall food preparation in the Quadrato Restaurant and Lounge.
Being able to project and procure the adequate amount of products and prepare in timely manner.
Demonstrating the ultimate level of food safety, understanding HACCP principles, possess the highest personal hygiene and be able to train the team.
Supporting the kitchen in absence of the Head Chef.
As Sous Chef,you will be working on a rotating shift basis, Monday to Sunday, 40 hours a week. Shift patterns will vary from Morning, Evening, and Late Shifts (including some weekends and bank holidays), so flexibility is required where applicable.
Being part of the small team, you will demonstrate excellent knowledge and dedicated behaviour.
The successful candidate will be highly professional, have excellent communication skills, be well presented and understand the importance of exceptional Guest Service.
