Your Role as Sous Chef
You will work closely with our Head Chef and Chef-Owners, Hari & Ori, to bring the vision to life. As Sous Chef, you will help lead a brand-new team, lean the daily operations, and ensure our high standards are met and exceeded.
You will be a key figure in the kitchen calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and passionate about food and people.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team, createa culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning among a brigade of over 30 chefs.?
- Ensure Consistency and Quality by overseeing the preparation and presentation of dishes, maintaining Nela's high standards across every service.
- Uphold safety and hygiene standards and ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations, creating a safe and clean working environment.?Wikipedia
- Manage inventory and costs by monitor kitchen stock, control costs, and manage budgets without compromising on quality.?
- Ensure the menu development bythe Head Chef and Chef-Owners Hari and Ori reflect our live-fire cooking ethos and seasonal availability.?
- Set the tone for training and progression by mentoring junior chefs, providing guidance and opportunities for professional growth within the team.?
- This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic kitchen, where your leadership and culinary skills will directly contribute to creating memorable dining experiences at one of London's most anticipated new openings.
You Will Thrive Here If You Have
- Experience as a Sous Chef in high-end, a la carte restaurants
- Used to managing 150+ covers during busy lunch and dinner services
- Experienced with PDR is highly desired
- Background in live-fire cooking/modern cuisine
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and grow a team of around 25
- Pre-opening experience (a bonus, not essential)
- Full UK work rights and availability to start before the launch (estimated start date is June or July wth opening planned for September)
