Position: IT Change Manager - User Device Rollout Specialist

Location: London (Hybrid working)

Contract: 4 months (Outside IR35)

Rate: £475 per day

Salt Recruitment's Local Government team is delighted to be working with a prominent London council to recruit an IT Change Manager for a critical device rollout project. This is an exciting opportunity to support a large-scale transition, enabling over 2,700 council staff to adopt new laptops (Surface Pro 10, Surface Laptop 6, and MacBook Air/Pro) with minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.

About the Role

As the IT Change Manager, you will oversee the entire user adoption strategy, ensuring a smooth migration to Windows 11 and macOS devices. This role is pivotal to supporting the council's commitment to empowering its staff with the latest technology while maintaining operational continuity. You will lead training, communication, and user engagement efforts in collaboration with the council's Tech Adoption Team and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training and Enablement: Deliver tailored training via webinars, live workshops, video tutorials, and self-service resources.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with change champions to prepare and onboard users, providing clear guidance and resources.
  • Phased Rollout Coordination: Manage a structured rollout process, collecting and acting on user feedback to refine training materials and address challenges.
  • Communication and Support: Maintain a centralised feedback loop, ensuring users have access to 1:1 support, Microsoft Teams channels, and additional resources.
  • Performance Tracking: Report on user adoption metrics and transition success, providing insights to improve future phases.
Your Skills and Experience

We are seeking an experienced IT Change Manager with a proven track record in managing large-scale IT transitions, ideally in public sector environments. You will bring:

  • Change Management Expertise: Familiarity with methodologies such as ADKAR, Prosci, or Kotter.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of Windows 11, macOS, Surface devices, and MacBooks. Knowledge of SCCM and Microsoft Intune is an advantage.
  • Training Delivery: Experience designing and delivering training for diverse audiences using methods such as webinars, workshops, and resource hubs.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to create clear, user-friendly materials and maintain strong engagement with stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in tools like Power BI, Jira, or Smartsheet, and experience in phased rollouts.
  • Sector Experience: Previous experience in Local Government or the wider public sector is highly desirable.
