Senior HR Analytics Specialist

£60,000 Hybrid (2 Days Office Per Week)

To support the Head of HR Systems in developing and enhancing the HR and Payroll systems(s) by providing experienced HR Systems analytics and visualisation skills in HR analytics/management information, deployment of key HR Systems analytics and project leading relating to analytics projects. To be involved in and responsible for HR/Payroll mission wide analytics developments and the production of analytics and data visualisation to develop comprehensive data insights on workforce trends and challenges with embedded tracking and eventually prediction through a thorough understanding of these systems. The role will take a pro-active approach to evolving comprehensive actionable insights to support the strategic aims of the HR Department and mission of the organisation.

People management: 2You will…

  • Take the lead on HR Systems analytics projects from scoping to post implementation review with a focus on data, analytics and Mission wide management information data provision
  • Be responsible for configuring and scoping and overseeing the implementation of analytics data visualisation functionality in collaboration with the Head of HR Systems
  • Working with Analytics stakeholders and leads in other departments to develop cross Mission multi-dimensional management information to inform leadership
  • Understand the evolving HR and Payroll system(s) and third party tools, and any supplementary modules to such systems, as used at the organisation.
  • Assist the Head of HR Systems and other team members in the development and implementation of PowerBI Dashboards and other Business Intelligence dashboards
  • Proactively identify and develop new management information and business intelligence solutions; compile data, statistics and analysis and provide proof of concept solutions
  • Manage and proactively ensure data integrity of the organisation structure in the system
  • Produce accurate and professional standard, complex and ad-hoc management information and KPI reports to users as required
  • Line manage two systems/data analysts and develop their potential in analytics delivery
  • Troubleshoot any identified problems with fully and partially converted reports and provide solutions
  • Where necessary, take advantage of new functionality to improve management information service
  • Support the Head of HR Systems in ensuring that the software application is understood sufficiently by all direct users to enable them to carry out their allotted work - through adequate an appropriate training and documented procedures
  • Induct new users in the correct use of the various HR Systems
  • Provide, as required, quality assurance assistance in data;
  • Provide advice and guidance on processes and procedures adhoc;
  • Work as part of the team within the department to ensure that the overall aims and objectives are achieved;
  • Maintain absolute discretion and maturity in handling sensitive/confidential data;
  • Proactively involved in testing new functionality and system developments;
  • Support the Head of HR Systems in ensuring that the software application is understood sufficiently by all direct users to enable them to carry out their allotted work, through adequate and appropriate training and documented procedures
  • Work as part of the team within the HR Department to ensure that the overall aims and objectives are achieved and to provide support to the core teams as needed (HR Department, Payroll Unit, Pensions Team, Finance Department, Car Fleet Department, Training College, Officer Unit, Retired Officer Unit, Overseas Unit and other core users and self-service users across the territory;
  • Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the Movement
  • Undertake training as deemed necessary and to participate in regular performance reviews with the Head of HR Systems
  • Undertake any other duties as required for the effective running of the Department and the Organisation.

You have…

  • Degree in relevant subject such as IT/HR/Business and proven (2+ years) experience in PowerBI report development within an HR and Payroll function;
  • Proven experience in a similar role within an HR function and report scoping and building using PowerBI toolsets and development languages (including Dax, M-code and incorporating natural language processing) and advanced SAP Business Intelligence report development. Additional knowledge of development skills in other similar reporting tools in creating data visualisation and analytics dashboards would be an advantage;
  • Analytical and problem solving skills relating to analytics and data visualisation;
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing effectively and appropriately with people at all levels throughout the organisation and external bodies as required, including software vendors;
  • Proven end-to-end project management skills - roll out and delivery of analytics functionality up to and including UAT; Solutions-orientated and systematic approach to issue resolution;
  • Previous line Management experience
  • Proven experience of leading development and support of major iTrent modules along with reviewing business process and data migration;
  • Familiarity with implementation from scoping to post-implementation review;
  • Experience of HR and/or payroll processes;
  • Ability and proven experience in planning and organising multiple priorities and deadline;
  • Proven experience of gaining buy-in and negotiation skills working with suppliers and key stakeholders;
  • Knowledge of data privacy requirements in an organisation;
  • Excellent IT skills with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office toolset, particularly Excel.
