Business Development Manager – IT Infrastructure – Up to £70k basic - Nationwide coverage - predominantly London and surrounding area

Our client is a leading distributor of cabling solutions into the telecom security and network cabling marketplace. They are looking for a Business Development Manager who will play a key role in driving sales and building strong relationships with key accounts in the telecom, security, and IT infrastructure sectors. To be a strong candidate for this role you will have proven external sales experience in the IT infrastructure industry or data network background with experience of selling to installers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Development: Identify and secure new customers by obtaining and calling new contacts within existing accounts and prospective customers.
  • Key Account Management: Develop long-term relationships with target key accounts (end-users and installers)
  • Customer Relationship Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, installers, and customers
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Proactively expand and manage a robust sales pipeline
  • Project Delivery Support: Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and successful project delivery.
  • Technical Expertise: Leverage your technical knowledge to provide value-added solutions and be seen as a trusted advisor to your customers.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Degree or HNC/HND in a technical field (e.g., electrical engineering, computing, etc.) desirable.
  • Experience in the IT infrastructure industry or data network background with experience of selling to installers
  • Proven track record in delivering profitable sales growth, both through developing existing customers and acquiring new ones.
  • Technical knowledge of security products and related industry solutions.
  • Proven ability to work with key suppliers/vendors and maintain excellent working relationships.
  • Strong networking skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a keen desire to succeed
  • Ability to engage in technical discussions with customer technical departments.
  • Willingness to travel (at least 3 days per week) and entertain customers as needed.
