Company Overview:

We are currently recruiting for a client, based on the South Coast that offers a variety of services from Steeplejack services to Lightning Protection and Specialist Earthing solutions, they are continuing to grow from strength to strength and are now looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to assist with their growth

Job Summary:

As the Business Development Manager specialising in Lightning Protection Products, you will be responsible for driving business development activities, identifying new opportunities, and building strong relationships with clients in the South East region. Your expertise in the lightning protection industry will enable you to effectively build and contribute to the company’s success.

The role:

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business goals, target market, and specific lightning protection product requirements across the UK and overseas
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to identify and engage potential clients, including architects, engineers, contractors, and facility managers, emphasising the benefits of the company lightning protection product portfolio.
  • Utilise your knowledge of industry trends and best practices to provide strategic guidance to clients, helping them enhance their lightning protection offerings and gain a competitive edge.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of industry professionals and key decision-makers across the UK, attending industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Negotiate offers and contract terms with clients, ensuring a win-win outcome for all parties involved.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and new business opportunities within the lightning protection industry.
  • Monitor and report on key sales metrics, including revenue forecasts, market trends, and customer feedback, providing regular updates to the senior management team.

The Candidate:

  • Previous experience in business development within the lightning protection industry is essential
  • In-depth knowledge of lightning protection products, systems, and related industry standards, specifically BSEN 62305.
  • Strong sales and networking skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of effectively presenting and conveying information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet targets within a competitive market.
  • Ideally based in the South East region of the UK, however the role will encompass the whole of the UK as well as potential for growth on a global basis
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet sales targets within a competitive market.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required.
  • A motivated self-starter with a passion for business development and lightning protection products
