Business Development Manager - ESG / private equity

Exciting opportunity to join a high-growth consultancy supporting the private equity industry in meeting their ESG agenda. Our client offers ESG due diligence on acquisitions as well as ongoing ESG improvement consulting for PortCos. This role will deal with inbound enquiries as well as reengaging with previous enquiries. 

This role will take a lead on developing business within a wide territory of mid market private equity firms. This is a great opportunity to develop strong knowledge of the ESG sector as well as a consulting environment. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Engage with inboard leads from potential private equity firms, presenting tailored ESG consulting solutions to meet their specific needs.
  • Evaluate and close upsell opportunities by understanding the needs of buyers within the accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within private equity firms to ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the ESG consulting team to develop and deliver integrated ESG strategies and solutions.
  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve business growth targets.

Qualifications Required:

  • Proven track record of  new business sales in knowledge focused businesses such as expert networks, market intelligence, consulting or due diligence 
  • Experience working with Board Members, Partners, Investment/Portfolio directors, and ESG specialists within UK mid-market private equity clients is essential
  • Experience of building a wide network of private equity contacts and the ability to build new relationships
  • A natural sales hunter who can develop leads and close business within fast-paced private equity clients and their portfolio companies
  • Strong interest in ESG principles and their application in business
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical mindset with a high level of attention to detail
  • Collaborative team player with a commitment to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
