The Group Sales Manager role will support the Director of Ticketing and Marketing Manager, and work alongside the General Manager to ensure the effective operation of the group and coach sales function within the ticketing department for Mamma Mia! The Party.

Bringing to the role a good understanding of group ticketing, strong numeracy skills and a keen attention to detail, the successful candidate will also have a demonstrable ability to work diligently and independently as part of a dynamic and experienced team. They will be self-motivated, energetic and thrive on working in a fast-paced and exciting industry.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement strategies to drive group ticket sales and meet revenue targets as set by MM!TP
  • Evaluate the current group sales operation, recommend and implement agreed improvements, developing best practices for future success.
  • Identify and join relevant trade bodies and institutions to advance the goals of the role and support the overall mission of MM!TP.
  • Maintain strong, positive relationships with existing clients, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction and addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Identify opportunities to attract new business and expand existing partnerships.
  • Supervision/line management of Group Sales Coordinator.
  • Cultivate and develop new relationships with group organisers, travel agencies, corporate clients, coach operators and other group bookers.
  • Act as primary contact for group enquiries, providing personalised assistance and guidance throughout the booking process.
  • In conjunction with MM!TP marketing, actively promote group tickets across multiple channels, including email campaigns, social media and industry events, developing targeted promotional materials and initiatives aimed at attracting group bookings.
  • Oversee the end-to-end group booking process, from initial enquiry to ticket purchase and payment.
  • Convey the unique value proposition of Mamma Mia! The Party to group and coach clients.
  • Represent Mamma Mia! The Party at Trade Shows, Conferences and other industry events.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required, particularly during peak booking periods and special events.
  • Coordinate group visits and special arrangements, including seating allocations and dietary requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of group bookings in the ticketing system.
  • Track and analyse group sales performance, providing regular reports and insights to management.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Carry out any other duties that may arise to fulfil the main objectives of the post and the aims of Mamma Mia! The Party.

ABOUT YOU:                       

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working with the group and coach markets.
  • Demonstrable numeracy skills, including ability to analyse and interpret data.
  • Working knowledge of and passion for live entertainment industry.
  • Knowledge of box office ticketing systems and the ability to rapidly pick up new systems or software.
  • In depth knowledge of standard office-based systems, Excel, Word etc.
  • Practical “hands on” approach to daily operations and the application of common-sense solutions to problems.
  • Reliable, well-organised and able to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Experience of working to targets and deadlines.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service to group and coach clients – going the extra mile for every client, every time.
  • Proven experience in group sales or hospitality sales, preferably in the entertainment or events industry.
  • Strong sales acumen with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
