CTO

Robert Half Technology are assisting a market leading trading organisation to recruit a CTO on a interim basis

Role

Technology Infrastructure:

• The CTO will maintain a comprehensive, up-to-date working knowledge of front to back technology infrastructure specific to a prime broker.
• Develop and maintain resilient, scalable, and cost-effective IT architecture to support the firm's trading operations and growth objectives.
• Ensure integration and operation of systems across all stages of the trading lifecycle, from order execution to settlement.

Data Security and Integrity:

• Possess an up-to-date understanding of data security and integrity requirements as mandated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
• Implement and oversee robust security measures to protect sensitive financial data and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Thoroughly understand the costs, risks, and vulnerabilities associated with IT architecture for a securities broker.

Vendor Management:

• Design and lead third-party vendors in the implementation and optimisation of IT architecture.
• Ensure third-party solutions meet the firm's standards for performance, security, and compliance.

Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead, coach, and motivate a multidisciplinary technology team

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure all technological systems and processes comply with FCA regulations and industry best practices.
• Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements and adjust the IT strategy accordingly.

Profile

• The CTO will have experience in a senior technology role within a prime broker or securities broker, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry, particularly within the context of FCA-regulated entities.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage and optimise IT budgets effectively.
• Experience in leading large-scale technology projects, including the deployment of trading platforms and security systems.
