About the Role:

This is a pivotal leadership position within a renowned charity organisation. As Technology Operations Director, you will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, delivering exceptional customer-focused IT services, and spearheading technology initiatives that directly support the organisation's critical mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence:
    • Oversee and optimise all aspects of IT operations, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance across all IT services (infrastructure, service delivery, support).
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Cybersecurity Leadership:
    • Lead and implement robust cybersecurity strategies to safeguard the organization's valuable data and systems from evolving threats.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant security standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
  • Innovation & Transformation:
    • Drive the adoption of innovative technologies and best practices (e.g., cloud computing, AI/ML, automation) to enhance service delivery, improve operational efficiency, and support business growth.
    • Lead technology-driven initiatives that align with the organization's strategic objectives and mission.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing and engaged team of IT professionals.
    • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and results-oriented work environment.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, including senior management, business leaders, and external vendors.
    • Effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role with a strong track record of success in managing and delivering high-quality IT services within a complex organisation.
  • Deep expertise in IT operations, including infrastructure management (servers, networks, storage, data centers), service delivery, and support.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, threat detection and response, data protection, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage change effectively within a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Experience with DevOps principles and practices, including automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
