Client Overview:Our client is a leading provider of comprehensive design, supply, and installation services for various mechanical systems within the building services industry. Specializing in renewable energy projects, they are currently undertaking varioussports centre project in London, focusing on the replacement of boilers with air source heat pumps, water source heat pumps, and the integration of big-sized heat pumps for a full-sized swimming pool.

Project Scope:The Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the complete execution of the project, emphasizing the replacement of boilers with Air Source Heat Pumps and Water Source Heat Pumps. The primary focus will be on pipework installation, with minimal involvement in ductwork/ventilation and some electrical work. The project includes the integration of 4/500 kW heat pumps to efficiently manage the heating distribution system.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the entire project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Oversee the installation of Air Source Heat Pumps, Water Source Heat Pumps, and large-sized heat pumps for the swimming pool.
  • Supervise pipework installations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the provided supervisor to ensure effective on-site management.
  • Manage subcontractors for building management systems (BMS), ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, timelines, and resources.
  • Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to address any technical challenges.
  • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, including progress reports and risk assessments.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is carried out according to specifications.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager, preferably in renewable energy projects.
  • Strong background in managing mechanical systems installations, with a focus on heat pumps and pipework.
  • Knowledge of building management systems (BMS) and experience in subcontractor management.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems related to mechanical projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
