Local Authority is seeking a motivated Building Control Surveyor to join our team and play a vital role in maintaining safety, quality, and compliance across our local built environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess plans, specifications, and site works to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation.
  • Conduct site inspections at all stages of construction to monitor compliance with safety, accessibility, and energy efficiency standards.
  • Provide expert advice to developers, contractors, and residents on building control matters.
  • Investigate and resolve dangerous structures, demolitions, and unauthorised works to safeguard public safety.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery by liaising with stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation for building control decisions and inspections.
About You:
  • Qualified Professional: Degree or equivalent in building surveying, construction, or a related field. Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CABE, or CIOB) is desirable.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, building standards, and associated legislation.
  • Site Experience: Proven experience inspecting works and managing a range of construction projects.
  • Problem-Solver: Ability to assess complex issues, provide solutions, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Effective Communicator: Excellent verbal and written skills with a professional approach to stakeholder engagement.
  • Organized and Proactive: Ability to manage workloads effectively, working both independently and as part of a team.
