Building Surveyor - Exciting Opportunity with a Prestigious Property Portfolio - South East London

Are you a skilled and proactive Building Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career? We are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded property management organisation, overseeing a diverse and historic estate. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, working on a varied portfolio of residential and commercial properties.

The Role

As a Building Surveyor, you will work closely with the Principal Building Surveyor, assisting in all aspects of property maintenance, repair, and improvement. You will be responsible for inspections, project management, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular property inspections, diagnosing defects, and preparing specifications for works.
  • Oversee repair and maintenance projects, ensuring completion within budget and to a high standard.
  • Administer contracts, monitor works in progress, and manage snagging processes.
  • Provide technical expertise on the Building Safety Act, Party Wall matters, and Section 20 works.
  • Liaise with leaseholders, tenants, and contractors to address property-related issues.
  • Assist in financial management, including insurance claims and budget oversight.
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives within the property portfolio.
What We’re Looking For
  • MRICS-qualified or working towards full membership.
  • Proven experience in building surveying and property management.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations, planning legislation, and compliance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CAD, and property management software (Qube, Dwellent preferred).
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
