Fire Door Inspector

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fire Door Inspector to play a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of communal fire doors across residential properties. This is an opportunity to work alongside the Fire Safety Officer and a committed team to deliver a high-quality fire door inspection programme, ensuring effective service delivery and compliance with all relevant fire safety regulations.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting routine fire door inspections, validating compliance with current standards, and arranging necessary repairs where required. Your keen eye for detail will ensure that inspections are recorded accurately, with robust documentation of recommendations and remedial actions. A key part of the role involves working collaboratively across departments, implementing systems of control for surveys, inspections, and maintenance of fire doors.

Travel between various locations will be required to carry out inspections efficiently and meet operational service requirements. Where remedial work cannot be immediately rectified, you will raise the necessary repair requests and conduct post-inspection checks to ensure all work has been completed to a high standard. Your technical expertise and ability to identify opportunities for service improvements will contribute to enhancing fire safety across the organisation.

Staying up to date with relevant legislation, best practices, and industry developments is essential. You will have the opportunity to attend focus groups, workshops, and corporate health and safety meetings to ensure the highest standards of fire safety are maintained. Building strong working relationships with key stakeholders and customers will be a crucial part of the role, ensuring a collaborative and effective approach to fire safety management.

This role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to use IT systems effectively to document and present inspection reports. A fire door inspection qualification or relevant experience is required, with a willingness to work towards further qualifications if necessary. Experience within a health and safety or inspection environment, particularly within a local authority or similar organisation, will be advantageous.

If you have a commitment to safety, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work flexibly within a team, we would love to hear from you. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in ensuring fire safety standards are met and maintained, protecting residents and communities.
