One of the UK's original fire consultancies is looking for a Fire Engineer to join their London office. With a team of 50 across the business, including a third who are Chartered Fire Engineers and several members on the IFE board, this firm is at the forefront of fire safety.

This role offers the Fire Engineer uncapped career progression, with a clear path up to Directorship, and the autonomy to shape your role in line with your ambitions.

The Fire Engineer's Role

Their specialist team is split between design and surveying, delivering fire safety solutions across both the public and private sectors. From healthcare and education to residential, stadia, and industrial projects, the Fire Engineer will gain exposure to a wide variety of work.

The Fire Engineer will work closely with clients, design teams, and enforcing authorities while collaborating internally with Directors, Managers, and technical colleagues.

  • Applying fire safety principles, regulations, and technical knowledge
  • Managing small projects from inception to completion under supervision
  • Developing an awareness of the responsibilities of a professional Fire Engineer
  • Adhering to industry best practices and company quality assurance standards
  • Ensuring compliance with the IFE's Code of Professional Conduct
The Successful Fire Engineer Will Have
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in fire safety engineering or a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. building services or structural engineering)
  • A strong understanding of fire safety regulations and technical standards
  • The ability to propose and justify fire safety solutions using technical knowledge and case studies
  • Experience managing project workload and financial procedures
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and professional development
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
