Fire Engineer
Location: London or Manchester (Hybrid Working)

A leading multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking a Fire Engineer to join its expert team, specialising in fire safety, compliance, and remediation across high-risk buildings in residential, mixed-use, and education sectors.

The Role

The Fire Engineer will conduct site inspections, review fire risk assessments, and analyse external wall investigation data. Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing fire safety risks and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices.
  • Providing guidance on fire strategy, interim measures, mitigations, and remediation actions.
  • Supporting faade and cladding projects across the UK.
  • Collaborating with project and cost management teams on remediation projects.
  • Producing high-quality reports and documentation.

Location & Flexible Working

The role covers England and Wales, with the successful candidate based in London or Manchester. Hybrid working and site visits are required.

The Candidate

  • Extensive knowledge of fire safety legislation, regulations, and guidance, including:
    • Building Safety Act 2022
    • Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022
    • Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
    • PAS 9980 and related standards
  • Higher education qualification in engineering or fire safety.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Fire Engineer status or equivalent membership of a professional body.
  • Strong understanding of building faades, fire risk assessments, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
